I went to Las Vegas last weekend with Lovey, my brother in law, and his girlfriend. It's almost a week later and I'm still trying to decide if I really enjoyed it. I had fun, don't get me wrong, but I have mixed feelings about Vegas in general. It's kind of how I feel about the beach. I enjoy myself when I go there, but I don't know that I inherently love love the beach, you know? Same thing with V-Town. I love the shows, and the architecture, and the food, and people watching (drunk people are funny, mostly), but everything else? Hmm...I don't know. I'm not really into gambling or drinking myself to oblivion, and that seems to be what 85% of the people there are doing...
So what did I do instead?
I read a book. At a bar. In the middle of a casino. And no, not the whole time. But our last afternoon there I did. And it was probably one of my favorite Vegas moments. I know what you're thinking, "I don't think anyone's favorite Vegas moment involves reading a book at a bar, Janette." And yeah, I probably agree with you, but reading and pausing every so often to people watch while sipping my Diet Coke was pretty fantastic. Aside from the shows (Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere & MJ Live) and reading my book, my other highlight was the FOOD! We purchased the Buffet of Buffets pass (about $60) which gives you access to 5 different buffets for 24 hours. (Fat kids much?) We went 3 times and I think the Paris buffet is my favorite. I had crepes, macarons galore, and creme brulee to last me a liftetime. DELISH! Get the pass if you go!
Want to read a post about the last time I went to Vegas (almost 10 years ago)? It was AWESOME cause I was only there for 3 hours. Haha! Read it! YES | NO
