New Blog Design. New Blog Name.

Well friends. I did it. I took the plunge yesterday. I am no longer Janette the Jongleur. Can you believe it?! My old blog name served me well, but it was time for its retirement. I cherished my time as a jongleur, but I kind of felt that it wasn't "me" anymore. And besides, I can't have a blogname that I can't even pronounce, right? Of course right!

So without further ado, please welcome Janette Lane Blog or Janette Lane for short. (No, "Lane" is not my last name.) It's a real place. A small little lane in the city where I grew up. I stumbled upon it one day while on an evening walk. For so many years it was simply a few blocks from my home, unbeknownst to me. I had never ventured in that particular direction...but that day I did...and  when I found it, t'was glorious. It's hard to find that particular spelling of my name (I've always settled for "Jeanette" trinkets and souvenir keychains). But not that fateful day. I had a street named exactly after me. So close to home! All those years.

And what does Janette Lane look like exactly? Well, it's a curvy road, dotted with the most welcoming homes painted blue (of course). Kids play in front yards, birds chirp in the trees, double rainbows stretch their length on both sides of the street... (Ok. That last part is a lie!) But it is cozy, inviting, and charming. And it's all mine! (In my mind, anyway).  And this is exactly what I aspire my new blog to be. Cozy. Familiar. Inviting. Mine.

I'm not really sure what comes next. Or if this even showed up in your feed. Can you comment below and let me know if you're still there? Thank you.

  2. Both blogs are in my G-Reader and in my blog reading list. =>

I have always spelled Janette the way you do...maybe because I had a friend in theatre named Janette and there was a foreign exchange student named Janette when I was in high school. I don't remember what country she was from because my high school was blessed to have quite a few over the years.

Anyway, the new blog looks nice!!

  4. Loved your old blog layout (even though I slacked at commenting), and this one is just as fabulous! Fresh starts are always nice. :) And goodness you inspire me to give mine a bit of a facelift and even a name change...got to get my thinking cap on... Loved reading about Janette Lane. :) My name has a few ways of spelling it too (most of the time people think there's an "i" in there) so I feel ya! Sounded like a lovely street, and the name is perfect for your blog.
