Janette the Swimming, Library Lover

So.. This morning hot coffee splattered on my face as I was getting into my car and I was late to work and I'm pretty sure my boss is being a grumpypants. (Did I mention my face was sunburned and that the coffee was more like lava? Oy!) Yet in spite of all this, I remain unphased, I had a pretty sweet weekend...I got to hang out in air-conditioned libraries and poolside all weekend. Woo! Nothing like taking a cool dip on a scorcher of a Sunday! Yup! Those were my highlights. Library and pool time. I like the smell of libraries. Don't you? Stuffy...stale air...Old books...Dust. Makes me want to write a term paper. I love it! So yeah.. Library and the pool.. That's what I did. Not too shabby, eh?

What'd you do?

  2. I haven't been to a library in a looong time, but I do love it. Especially the libray at the local university - it's HUGE, as in multiple stories huge, I could spend all day there!

  5. I ate lunch at my parent's house today for lunch and as I was leaving I ran into their garbage can. I spent 10 minutes trying to wrangle it back to their curb and right side up and I was super late for work. Whoops. Your lava to the face was way worse. Mine was just funny and embarrassing. I wish I spent my weekend with a pool and a library. That sounds perfectly perfect.

  7. Ouchie! I hope you're doing okay! Sounds like a nice and relaxing weekend though. :) I'm back on the job prowl. If I can get two people I asked to write me a reference, then I can submit my application to substitute in the county. I'm not giving up just yet! But let's hope they reply/send me one soon so that I don't have to get another TB test thing since mine expires soon. [They want proof that you got one or at least an evaluation a year or earlier.] I wanna get in to orientation asap so that I can start subbing as soon as school starts if I don't have something by then! [Wow, sorry for the rambling! haha]

  9. Ewwwww...sorry about the coffee and the sunburn! I got a little burned this weekend too--on my scalp! Eek--gonna have to cover the scaley head for a while so that it can peel in peice. I hate when I forget my hat! Sounds like you and I would get along splendidly--I work in a library and LOVE the smell of dust and old books...and old carpet, lol. Although, we will be moving into a new building soon and it will most likely smell like wet paint and new carpet. Love those smells too though!

  12. There is nothing like the smell of the inside of an old book! Aside from lava coffee accidents it sounds like the pool and the library cured what ailed you!
